In der Filmmetropole »Nyallywood« ist die Filmproduzentin Joelle Davidovich Pomponette (genannt Pompo) vor allem für ihre Action- und Erotikfilme bekannt. Aber obwohl sie stets versucht, das Beste aus ihren Darstellern herauszuholen, haben ihre Produktionen lediglich die Qualität zweitklassiger B-Movies.
Eines Tages findet ihr Assistent Gene, der ebenfalls ein großer Filmfan ist, eines von Pompos Manuskripten. Was er da liest, fasziniert ihn so sehr, dass seine Chefin ihn aufträgt, selber als Regisseur tätig zu werden. Zunächst ist Gene zwar noch skeptisch, doch bald schon geht er in seiner neuen Rolle auf. Gleichzeitig entdeckt Pompo eine junge Frau namens Natalie, die gerade erst nach Nyallywood gezogen ist und unbedingt Schauspielerin werden möchte. Wird es allen gelingen, ihre Träume zu verwirklichen?
